New date for Abraham-Miranda!
Abraham: On September 23rd, I´ll put Miranda in his place.
Four days after the postponement of the IBF middleweight world championship between titleholder Arthur Abraham (Berlin) and challenger Edison Miranda (Colombia) the fight has been rescheduled today. Abraham is going to defend his belt on September 23rd within the framework of Team Sauerland´s International Pro Boxing Gala at Rittal Arena in Wetzlar, Germany. The town is situated northern of Frankfurt/Main. “We tried hard to re-organize the fight quickly”, Abraham´s manager Wilfried Sauerland says in Berlin. “The date on September 23rd has already been coordinated with our TV partner ARD. Therefore this is the easiest and best solution.” The first mandatory title defense appointed by the IBF had been initially planned for 26th August at Oldenburg and had to be postponed when Abraham contracted the flu.

Meanwhile, Abraham reacted calmly to Miranda's verbal attacks after the postponement. "We already know that he talks fancy a lot," the champion says. "If his fists are even fast as his mouth, it may be an interesting fight. Of course I regret having had postponed the fight. I didn´t struggle during the three-month preparation for nothing. At the moment my state of health is not 100% fit but the medicine has been a great help to me and it get´s better. I think I can start to train next week. On September 23rd, I´ll put Miranda in his place."
