Floyd Mayweather has much more skill than all of them, but we wouldn't put him on the list. That is a silly criteria, really. You cannot abstract 'skill' from size, strength, chin, etc. Toney has to perform well against real heavyweights (like Rahman and Peter, for example) to earn the ranking. What he did in lower weights should not influence this at all.
word up, tyhas exactly what i was trying to say....
and also the guy who made this article seemed like he was smoking something because there are so many mistakes in that article that its not even funny....

this list is a piece of crap to be completely honest, i know what is says its based on but there are some aggregious errors.
there is really no way to explain tony thompson being left completely off the list, he is at least a hopeful and in my mind just as likely to become champion as calvin brock is. its even funnier that he ranks krasniqi and points out the fact that he backed out of a fight with thompson out of fear.
hopefuls??? barrett, mccall, williamson, WHAT THE ****???, more like
hopeless washed up pieces of crap
hasim rahman is a bum, there are 5-8 guys ranked behind him that would beat him more often than not.
ray austin ranked ahead of valuev and peter?? LMAO
Here is the real top 15:
1. wladamir klitschko
2. sergei lyakovich
3. james toney
4. oleg maskaev
5. lamon brewster (though i consider him retired at the moment)
6. nicolai valuev
7. samuel peter (deserves to be higher or lower, we'll know soon)
8. tony thompson (i like him over brock)
9. calvin brock
10. john ruiz
11. juan carlos gomez (fighting october 12th, opponent TBA)
12. sultan igbraminov
13. ruslan chagaev
14. shannon briggs
15. vladamir virchis
Five Guys to watch: Alexander Povetkin, Alexander Dimitrenko, Taras *****ko, Kevin Johnson, Tye Fields.
i dont rank chris byrd since he is talking only about moving down to cruiserweight.
1) Wladimir Klitschko
2) James Toney
3) Sergei Liakhovich
4) Oleg Maskaev
5) Lamon Brewster
6) Hasim Rahman
7) Chris Byrd
8) Nikolay Valuev
9) Calvin Brock
10) Sam Peter
Krasniqi didn't back out of a fight with Thompson because he was scared, get real, with respect.
OK, technically youre right.
he didnt back out of a fight because one was never made.
he did however refuse the oppruntunity to fight Thompson to be made the #1 contender and it doesent make much sense to me why he would do that being that the goal of being a fighter is to become champion, i hardly see any reason for the refusal other than he thinks its a terrible matchup (which it is) that he probably cant win, and thats being real as i can be.

did you notice JCgomez is fighting in october?
Ok, fair enough, it's just that i do't see any reason why a talented fighter like Krasniqi would be scared of a guy like Thompson. Wll be interesting to see if Gomez will be fighting anyone of note, he can not be denyed if he keeps winning, doesn't matter if he's liked or not.

It's a pretty fair list, the only thing I wouldn't agree with is Rahman being #6, he never won a title defense in his life and got a gift WBC belt. I don't think he should be above Byrd or Brock.
