I hear some bull**** overkill from a lot of people here.

Yes, Castillo should have come in on weight and cost a lot of people, none more than himself. He is being punished more than appropriately and there is still a possibility for him to fight Corrales, Hatton or anyone else at the top next year.

Quite apart from the fine and cessation of earnings for a whole year, Castillo has pending litigation with Corrales and Shaw which will cost him a furtune either way.

So lighten up with the bull**** just because you didn't get to see the big fight. It's over.

I think it was pretty fair. Castillo should've definitely been punished for it but I didn't think it warranted ruining his career with a long suspension. I think till 2007 is fair and him not being able to fight below 140lbs is fair.

I agree. I just don't think he was trying to get away with anything. He had not been able to make the weight for a few years and that situation was a disaster waiting to happen.

I think Corrales has a right to be pissed off, but he more than anyone has the knowledge of making weight the hard way; I hope he doesn't break Castillo in the courts.

On the contrary, I hope he ruins Castillo financially. If you don't want to fight, don't sign the contract. Don't try to make it look like you are unable to fight when you've known about the fight for 7 months and claim you can't make the weight on the day of the fight. That's cowardice.

Dude, I have been watching some of the comments you have been making and I know we will never see eye to eye on this so we'll not even go there.

I can't help but question your credibility on the issue when you have an avatar that has Castillo's face and the words "Face of a Coward" over it.

How can you possibly call any fighter a coward let alone Castillo who has beaten and ruined some of the world's best?

              That's just incomprehensible to me.

I think 140 is just about right. People made a fuss about him fighting at welterweight just because they made him fight at that weight in the Corrales rematch, but with his height and history at the lower weights, I feel welterweight would be a stretch for him to be effective.

The punishment fits the crime. He definitely deserved that judgment.

to me a coward is anyone who isn't man enough to admit they are afraid. he went about getting out of this fight completely the wrong way. he could have used money as an excuse or anything else he wanted to, but no, he pretends he can't make weight so he doesn't have to fight because he knows he can't beat Corrales on a fair playing field. sure, he can win when he comes in at a different weight class while Corrales has been working hard to make lightweight. fool me once, fine, but Castillo tried it twice, and that is absolutely sickening.
