Broner was so bad, Abner Mares excused himself from commenting on Broner’s performance until halfway through the fight.

Mares, terrified to be critical of the house fighter, was reminded in round six or seven by another commentator that he promised to offer some sort of commentary on Broner’s performance.

He gave away the first half of the fight to Santiago. The second half of the fight was closer.

114-113 Santiago is incredibly generous to Broner. Anything north of that is acceptable.

119-108 Santiago was even acceptable, LOL

Flat out corruption. Broner was going to win this fight no matter how badly he got beat between the ropes. Highly unlikely there will be an investigation however, since they're all on the fix anyway.

No wonder people are giving up on this sport. Disgraceful.

Now post fight, people are saying he got a gift over a 31 year old puerto rican fork lift operator with 15 fights in a 14 fight career.

Looks like I was accurate. I dont even have to see the fight to know how chitty broner is and how leaky his defense has historically been. He got outlanded 2-1.

Burt sugar made a career of off giving out his opinions on fights he never saw.
What a ****en rank amateur comment. Go watch the fight. What you’re saying is totally irrelevant. And being out landed 2-1 didn’t happen. Silly ass comment.

He didn’t land 200 clean punches on Broner. This was that Floyd/Castillo compubox take where Castillo got much more credit than he deserved. Same for Santiago.

As someone else said, back when Broner threw more punches and walked guys down he was winning fights.

For whatever reason, he decided he's a master of defense and he quit throwing punches.

His defense is nowhere as good as his old offense, and that's why he's been losing fights and not looking good in fights he wins.
Thats right but at some point u just gotta admit the guy isn't, isn't, and never will be that great. People gotta be like "oh, if he let his hands go he'd be elite," he's "wasted talent," if "he takes boxing serious he'd be elite." Came up short every big fight, people just gotta admit he isn't all he was hyped up to be.

                I completely agree.

Even while he was undefeated and hyped-up to the moon, you could see problems.

He was partying too much, so much so he was not making weight.

What's funny is he wanted to be Floyd 2.0, but Floyd always made weight, and from what I heard he walked around close to his fighting weight and never really had to cut significant weight.

Broner won the fight 6-6(-1) w/o the point deduction it was a draw tho.

I saw 7 clean rounds for Santiago at least...and I was really rooting for Broner. I gave Broner probably all of the close rounds.

Is someone going to put the 117-110 Broner card in the terrible scores thread or should I do it?
