Funny part is you never made any prediction before the fight took place. Why? And now you made this thread.

Next time you should at least post who you think would win.

I don't follow 'eye test' fighters. I follow guys who actually beat somebody worth a damn. Which ironically are the guys who most of NSB dislike.

I didn't even know they were fighting until I saw the pinned thread and by that time the fight was almost over.

In any case it doesn't matter who I predict wins. I've said it before. I care about guys beating someone worth something.

Berchelt was heavily overhyped. Period. The man accomplished very little.

It would be like Saunders beating Berlanga at 168. Who the hell cares? Berlanga hasn't fought anybody worth a damn, he just passes the 'eye test' yet accomplished nothing. Such a win does NOTHING for Saunders. That's how I felt with Berchelt, same as Kelly, same as DuBWAH, same as Verdejo, etc. It's just a bunch of 'eye test' hyping. The "JuanMa Effect" as it were.

Not by me. never really rated him, nor the guy who beat him, I forget his name. Poor division.

Berchelt was never really hyped. He was never elevated to the level of Loma type fighters. Maybe some fans did. Miguel was still known for his hard-fought battle against Vargas. Which was a see-saw battle. There's nothing impressive about working that super-hard to beat a worned-out fighter like Francisco.

The boxing traditionalists are taking a lot of heavy losses: Commey, Loma, Berchelt, Campbell, etc. All the people they picked to win came up short BIG time. Many of them are questioning their boxing 'expertise.'

Traditionalists are people who toe the line to appear an expert and a part of that expert community. You can add to my above list.

I and some rare ones picked against all those fighters. Been telling NSB for the longest time that Berchelt was nothing special, with his up and down, torso open, chin in the air kinda style. I was never surprised last night. The only thing he had was size. One of the most cement footed fighters I've ever seen.

No. People want their money's worth. They get it if the decision was hard fought over 10 or 12 rounds.

Which is why Spence/Danny drew more money than Canelo recently.

I wish I remembered what video it was... Loma was wrapping his hands I believe, and was asked about Berchelt.

Loma responded with "that fight doesn't interest me"

Whether he'd destroy Berchelt or not, he had a belt... I don't understand why he didn't want that fight.

Berchelt was not overhyped. Other fighters would not even mention him. He was a high risk champ because his power and offense. Valdez is simply that good and showed it.
