Let's flip it around.

The Broner I saw at the presser/face-off looked like he didn't want to be there. Which tells me someone told him he was being used to elevate Santiago.

Second, Broner has been grossly inactive and undisciplined. Santiago is fresh off knocking out a fairly decent undefeated fighter in Zegarra two months ago.

Santiago is straight up and down - textbook, not overly aggressive. He actually fights like Tarver which doesn't make sense at his size. Broner should WALK THROUGH HIM.


The problem (pun intended) is what it's always been though...





I read that Mike Stafford is back as primary trainer. I don't know that it makes a difference, because Cunningham seemed to be a better trainer, but Broner simply doesn't listen to corner advice.

I actually hope Broner DOES show up and impress. I just don't see it. I don't see the desire to be a fighter in him anymore.

I know he gave up drinking - good. But if you cause a certain level of damage to yourself you can't take that back, so you shouldn't start in the first place.

Spence at least had a major car crash to help him get a clue and stop the nonsense.

Broner ...I mean multiple times in front of a judge, getting escorted out of arenas, getting shot at, twice at least, leaked sex tape, unprotected sex with strippers, untold amounts of kids, etc. I just don't see a resurgence possible against people with a positive fight record at this point.
