I get the matchmaking business and all. What irks me is reading or hearing boxing fans saying “If he comes prepared he’ll win”.
What does that even mean? Isn’t a pro boxer supposed to be prepared and coming to win?

David Haye promised us he would KO Wladimir. He was so convincing that I even bought into it. After getting beat, he takes off his shoe and says he had a broken toe prior to the fight.

Freddie Roach promised us that PAC would KO Floyd. Only for PAC to claim shoulder injury.

Donaire was so sure he would beat Rigondeux. After the fight, shoulder injury.

I could go on and on.

a lot of boxers will do anything to get to the big fight, but then when they get to the big fight, they think they've arrived and don't want to get KOed.

donaire doesn't belong in same category as pac and haye. donaire did everything he could to win. he took tons of punishment against rigo and kept coming forward. totally different.

After the fight when asked what happened, he said he had a rotator cuff injury.
I am a fan of Donaire just FYI

Remember the last scene in Scarface where Tony Montana is killed? Let's just say that even Montana wasn't as shot as Adrien Broner was tonight.
