on topic, monzon had an amazing engine especially for a 15 rounder fighter, great defense aswell plus he knew how to use his height and reach (dude had very long arms).

on the other hand, canelo's stamina isn't good. wouldn't wanna be tired in front of an acurate puncher who can **** for 15 rounds.

Canelo’s stamina would be just as good if he was allowed some coke. Jus sayin’

while alcohol was always an isue with monzon, i honestly don't think carlos was doing coke while active. his trainer said that his true downfall came when he started doing it back in the 80s when he was already retired, that's why he strongly advised him not to take a fight with hagler (aparently he was a offered a fight with marvin a few years after his last fight).

He padded his record against a lot of C-rate Argentine fighters. Monzon was scrappy and had a lot of dog in him. He'd force Canelo to get out of his comfort zone and pressure him to fight. He had a lot of stamina, a 15-round fighter. Would have the height and reach advantage. Not sure how that plays out.
and which all time great has canelo beat?
