I think they are moving him fine. I'm cool with this Demond guy next. At this stage he needn't have had fought anyone too real as of yet. I wouldn't mind seeing him vs Ievgen Khytrov in his next fight or two after Demond.
But as to the question...of course he's overrated. Fans ALWAYS overrate guys who can KO opponents like Edgar can. That doesn't mean he'll always be overrated or that he can't be great, it merely means fans get too hyped by KO's & make it a bigger thing than they should.Comment

Correct. If anything, the hype from ESPN is bringing in more ratings and casual fans, I suppose. I despise most casual fans but I appreciate them as well because it pushes boxing.I agree 100%, and he's a prospect who is knocking everyone out in the first round so of course the hype is understandable.
I know he hasn't faced top competition yet but we need to remember that if 1st round knockout streaks were that easy to achieve then we would see more of them.
As for who he should fight next, I think Gabe Rosado or even someone like Steve Rolls would be a step up from his recent competition.
And I can see a Steve Rolls fight or even a Rosado fight in the near future. I actually believe a Rosado fight in June in New York would probably sell a bit. I'm not sure if he'd be the co-feature or the main event, but I wouldn't argue with it.
There's a few guys on the PBC side that he could fight, but I'm not sure who his handlers are. It seems like ESPN will be his home for a while.Comment

I wouldn't say overrated, it's too early. I think it's normal in boxing to get excited about an up and comer who is knocking out opponents with relative ease. Fans like knockouts. He's a big strong prospect. From what I have seen of him he is on the slow side, but there aren't any speed demons in his weight class either.Comment

The version of Gabe Rosado who showed up against Daniel Jacobs would be a tough fight, however I would certainly applaud Berlanga for stepping up that far.Correct. If not Rosado then I think Berlanga and his team should be looking at opponents who have been in with the top guys. Without considering promotional affiliation, I wouldn't mind seeing Berlanga face:
1. Rocky Fielding (Canelo)
2. Caleb Truax (Caleb Plant)
3. David Lemieux (Billy Joe Saunders)
4. J'Leon Love (David Benavidez)Comment
