For the record, Lara beat Andrade in the amateurs.
Now forget about that bigger, stronger, younger argument: - Lara was 31 when he fought a 23 Alvarez. Alvarez was 155 back then - Andrade is 33 in a week and Alvarez is 30 and is fighting at 168 right now.
Now ask urself this question and be honest.
If Canelo vs Andrade was made today for next May ¿Who would be the favorite on the betting lines?
Andrade is a great "EYE TEST" fighter, but here is a FACT, and by FACT i mean, not an opinion but a thing that has happened in the past: To this day, Andrade hasn't beat a champion nor a former champion on his whole career, he hasn't proved anything to suggest he would beat Alvarez.
Now, that's not to say that he wouldn't be able to beat Alvarez, my point is that he wouldn't be the favorite at all, yes he would be seen as a legit challenge but nothing to suggest he is the so called boogeyman a lot of people make him to be.
Charlo and Benavidez would have better odds because at least those guys have fought better opposition.
Now, Plant's win over Uzcategui is better than Andrade's win over Martirosyan which happen to be 7 years ago.
There is a lot to unpack.
1st, Canelo would certainly be the betting favorite over Andrade and rightfully so. Also true is that Martirosyan in his prime vs Lara was a draw, he was no push over. It wasn't until Andrade beat Martirosyn that others realized he could be out boxed.
As for Lara, yes Lara once out pointed Andrade for 6 out of 9 minutes...once. Over 12 rounds today, Andrade would without question be the odds on favorite to beat Lara.
Although Martirosyn did knock Andrade down, Andrade was winning and for that reason I think Maciej Sulęcki is a better win. Sulęcki is a much better inside counter puncher than Martirosyn and he went into survival mode after about the 7th.
That said, If Canelo gets inside and is allowed to work it's over, Andrade and Charlo included. The problem is getting inside, it's not without cost. Andrade fights long range and Charlo isn't someone you want to stand too close to for very long. Both present stylistic problems and that's why neither are on Canelo's short list.
100% agree. Andrade is a respectable human being that doesn't waste time with hate or trash talking. If he's so boring then why is Canelo fighting BJS who is a pure boxer?
Canelo is the biggest active, non-heavyweight draw today.
If you know of someone bigger let's hear it.
2nd, DAZN would have paid Canelo 30+mill a pop but not for a long list of Rocky Fieldings. For the record, DAZN didn't break the contract, Canelo did and not because of the money but the choice in competition.
As for the **** minister rant...that's just a cheap attack because you don't have an argument or evidence to support your opinion.
It's called an ad hominem. nice try.
Once again, tell
A lie long enough the impressionable will believe it. Prove he’s the biggest draw.....use recent gates and viewership. You made the statement now you back it up.
Anything else is just pure propaganda. Now you wouldn’t lower yourself to those depths now would you lad?
Why ten years? In one fight against Callum he’s done more than Andrade has ever done...beat a proper champion lmao.
No arguement there, I just picked ten years as way of going back as far as you want with Andrade. He's never foughtt anyone that could be considered "of note" imo.
