Comments Thread For: Oscar Valdez: Berchelt Is Biggest, Strongest, Best 130-Pound Champion Out There

Oscar Valdez believes he'll challenge the best and most dangerous of boxing's 130-pound champions Saturday night. Valdez thinks Miguel Berchelt's size and power separate his Mexican rival from Gervonta Davis, Jamel Herring and Joseph Diaz Jr., who lost his IBF junior lightweight title at the scale Friday. The undefeated former WBO featherweight champion considers Davis, the WBA super featherweight champ, and Herring, the WBO junior lightweight champ, tough potential opponents as well.

Is Berchelt the "best" 130lb. fighter? This where I need Lomachenko to make his comeback! Berchelt vs. Lomachenko is long overdue! MAN UP!

I agree that Berchelt is the best 130lber,that size power and workrate just might be too much for Valdez. Heart wants Valdez to take it as the guy is a class act but doesn't seem Valdez has improved defensively enough,or all around for that matter with the reynosos, to go 12 with Berchelt. That and coupled with the fact that Oscar has been severely hurt in each of his last fights against lesser op doesnt bode well for him. Hopefully he can be sharp enough to catch Berchelt in between some of those wide hooks he throws and hurt or put him down but that's a tall order.

I agree, maybe Bob and Loma are willing to take that fight now that he's coming off a loss. Because they avoided him like the plague when Loma was at 130, so much so that they moved up in order to avoid that fight. I mean they both fight for TR, so making that fight shouldn't of been hard to make, Berchelt was begging Bob for Loma and they ran a different direction.

He’s entitled to his opinion but,

Win or lose I think Gervonta beats any 130 pounder and that includes you Oscar! I’m picking you for this fight Oscar because I like the betting odds but don’t think for a second because you beat Berchelt that no way Gervonta beats you, it doesn’t work that way. Sign the contract then

He can box, he can brawl and he hits hard. I agree that he's the class of the 130lbers. I like Valdez but I just don't see him beating El Alacran.
