    But you can't pull an Erislandy Lara (meaning, you're not doing everything you can to either get your opponent out of there or shut them down DECISIVELY for at least 8-9 rounds) and get your hand raised anymore.

      It’s a funny one, the issue is round by round scoring!

      Look at the fight as a whole, a draw would be fair or you could make a case for either man to nick it

      However if the rounds are close and you can barely split them, you can easily end up with scores like we saw

      Not because one man dominated, but because one guy did a fraction more in each round.

      So in the grand scheme of the fight it was close but assuming you don’t want to give drawn rounds which most don’t, you have to give it one way and if even by a fraction one guy was better in each round, it ends up looking one sided

      I was as annoyed as anyone when I heard those two cards but if you think about it, the scoring system by it’s very nature can turn up a wide score even in a close fight
