Also potentially Kelly vs Avanesyan and Gill vs Juarez next week.
There are no issue from me with fights like whyte vs povetkin. Its a legit fight between contender which whyte should have won though.
Same with kelly vs avanesyan. Solid fight. If he doesnt beat him, he just isnt as good as advertised.

But matchrooms matchmaker dont make their homeworks for those random and often short notice opponents that they get.

Lara was a pretty bad matchup stylistically for warrington.

Why the hell would you put someone against ritson voluntarily? It's very difficult to look good against him and ritson just rushes forward.

    Eggington lol.

Barrett had issues with relentless pressure already vs ronnie Clarke. Doesnt seem to have fixed those.

Another bad one was cheese vs sergio garcia.

Saying hes the best in the division then fighting an Australian nobody really knows, well i hope George ***s him up tbh.
I get your point, but Kambosos did earn his shot by beating Selby in his backyard, questionable decision or not. I don't think it was for any interim titles but Transnational Boxing rankings have him at #10 at lightweight currently. I thought he edged it personally and despite having the odds stacked against him he deserves to move on to a bigger fight, and what bigger fight is there at 135 than with Lopez currently. I know you're not trying to badmouth your countryman by any means but that's kinda how it feels.

I see your on a bit of Teo bender. The money line odds were fairly close but I think Teo Decision and Fury KO were both around 6/1 or 7/1. The Fury Wilder II money line odds were basically pickem but I see both as upsets due to unexpected method of victory. Most people figured Teo would only win by KO or Fury would outbox and outclass Wilder fully with no mistakes in the rematch. Both played out very differently because boxing is the theater of the unexpected.

These are human beings, not robots. If we knew the outcome of every fight then there would be no point watching. Boxing is great because of the upset potential, one punch can change a whole fight and a fighters life.
This might be the best post in the thread actually. Very good points.

I know Mammoth is a legit hardcore boxing fan but almost seems like you're viewing this from a business perspective as opposed to a fans viewpoint.

It’s good for boxing though. Great to see underdogs come through and hard matched fights.

It's almost like they go to boxrec and say "well, my guy is ranked 14th and this available guy is ranked 65th so we can't lose that one". The results end up entertaining for the fans but Top Rank would never allow some of these match ups.

Funny how 2 of them still won too:

              Barrett vs Martinez
              Ritson vs Vazquez

I'd never heard of Jordan Gill but I watched Cordina vs Tinoco and quite like what I saw from Joe.

He has a fight coming up March 20th TBA too so looking forward to that one.
It makes for good entertainment I agree but no way any company wants that.

People, this is fighting sport. Favorites shouldn`t always win.

Why the hell "fans" say somebody was exposed when he loses?

Man, this is fighting. Always somebody loses.

I like it. Even the lesser fights is vs talented fighter’s. It’s not a coincidence that Warrington was fighting a tough and powerful kid like Lara or Joshua a underrated and skilled fatman like Ruiz. Or why Whyte has a respectable resume with Parker and Povetkin. Boxing fans will whine no matter what it seems.

If we go the PBC route of building up hypejobs it’s picking on guys a weightclass or two below, old men, has beens etc. If it’s anything less than that, it’s put on PPV like it’s some super fight. It’s a joke of a system. Be glad that we get these decent matchups.
