Compubox biased or grossly inacurate?

I have noticed this in a replay of Maskaev-Rahman fight. I have noticed that in the middle rounds Maskaev landed about twice more punches than Compubox claimed he did.

Do promoters pay Compubox to be biased (like they pay the referees to favor their fighter)?

I hope boxing journalists will investigate the accuracy of Compubox.

It has no effect on the outcome of the fight. Why would they fix it ? Why invistigate something that holds no importance what so ever ? It is only for the fans at home to view and is most likely very low on accuracy .

Because if a new boxing fan comes in, and watches the fight, either, A), he will think the loser is winning, or B), he will notice that compubox is off, become disenchanted, and disregard boxing.

Other sports have stats on screen - they don't affect the outcome of each game, why should they be accurate?

Because they present a perspective for the viewer. Same as compubox. And if it's not accurate, they should either fix it or take it away - the attitude of 'just leave it' is why boxing is so broken - it needs fixing, but everyone says 'just leave it'.

It's tough to say what is a landed punch and what isn't. Do you give credit if someone is shining shoes, or hits the ribs during a hold. Also, on TV a lot of punches that may have landed may hit the glovves, and not been counted as landed punches. It's a very difficult thing to get 100% spot on, but they're not too far off from actual numbers.

Boxing fans PAY for this Compubox **** (by subscribing to HBO and buying PPV), so they deserve to get accurate numbers.

The one thing I am absolutely certain about as far as boxing is concerned is that you DO NOT trust compubox. Watch Mayweather-Castillo I and count the punches, then compare yours to compubox's. It is inaccurate and biased.
