Comments Thread For: Frampton: Long Road Back For Warrington, I Hope Lara Gets Title Shot

Carl Frampton found it hard to watch the beating that Josh Warrington took on Saturday night at SSE Arena at Wembley. In December of 2018, Warrington was on top of the world when he won a twelve round decision over Frampton to retain the IBF featherweight title.

Boxingscene needs to correct this: His undefeated run came to an end on Saturday, when he was stopped in nine rounds by unbeaten Mauricio Lara of Mexico.

Josh didn't lose because he's Engish. Father time is undefeated. They don't call it a high energy style, for no reason.

Ring years are like dog years. 7 to one, less at elite levels, worse in the lighter weights. 30 is about the cutoff for feathers. Past that are the standouts.

Agree, boxing ages the little men far greater than the big guys. All that wear and tear (tend to battle a lot more) and killing themselves making weight. I remember Barry McGuigan retiring at 28 (100% teetotal and lived the life) saying he had nothing left to give. Very, very few peak post 30+

This is so true. He looked like he had zero energy from round 1 in there.. I imagine the lack of crowd would affect his style, but he looked like he was having a spar.
