    Wright Still Wants Taylor Rematch

It was reported in the Boston Globe, that Golden Boy Promotions, on behalf of Winky Wright, made a $6 million dollar offer to DiBella, Inc. for a rematch with undefeated middleweight champion Jermain Taylor. Team Taylor is not looking to face Wright again in 2006, but did propose possibly hooking up for a rematch in April 2007. [details]

He knows he won the fight, alot of people agree he won the fight, but that doesn't change the fact he doesn't have the belts or recognition as middleweight champion. Also, other than Calzaghe at 168 and Floyd at 154, there are no other megafights out there for Winky, who is eager to get 2-3 big ones and then retire.

DLH won't fight him, Floyd won't fight him, and Calzaghe, well, he may but it couldn't be until next summer (Bika and then Glen Johnson on the docket for Joe C.)

He's trying to get a huge fight instead of a methodical, unexciting win over Quartey or Forrest. No need to blast him for not "backing up all the **** he was talking". Would you rather he fight Quartey or Forrest?

he thinks he won the fight, and not everyone agrees (i'm one of them). he should of tried to get an immediate rematch instead of whining like a little ***** and since taylor is going to fight ouma i wouldn't mind seeing wright-quartey.

they both came in prepared for the first fight but your right, taylor is only improving with each fight and wright isn't getting any younger.

I didn't say "everyone" I said "alot", and this would be an immediate rematch--even though there will be almost six months between bouts, neither will have had an interim fight.

Sure, he didn't beat the drums for the rematch, but he was bitter. I think he should have told his side of the story instead of storming off, but what's done is done. All that matters is that now he is trying to get the rematch, and while it is a little late, at least he's trying.

I don't, however, like the way Golden Boy tries to sneak in at the last second, buy the opponents (first Margarito and now Taylor) and stage a big promotion.
