Seems a little strange to me that fighters who fail to make weight.. and Diaz missed by four freaking pounds, so it was not even close... complain about the result. Obviously, you were not all that concerned about the result or you would have made the division requirement.

Diaz is not a scrub. He is a good fighter. Move up or make the scales happy. If you do not, shush about not winning.

I felt Diaz did enough but a Draw isn’t a bad scorecard by any means. I had it 115-113 Diaz.

          I thought Diaz won.

But its hard to have much sympathy for a guy who didn't even bother to make the weight.

I thought the draw was fine but Diaz picked up much of the later rounds. Rakhimov deserves a shot at the vacant title, probably against Ogawa.

Yes, keep quiet, especially when you lost the title before the fight even started because you couldn't be a professional.

One of those fights where it’s between a busier guy who didn’t land much and a less busy but more accurate counterpuncher... I saw Rahkimov win by a round. Jo Jo came on strong landing some hard counters in the mid to late rounds but he took too many off at the beginning of the fight when Rakhimov actually looked capable of hurting him... Rakhimov slowed but was active enough to take the 8th and 12th.

You can’t really argue with a draw or 115-113 the other way though.

That doesn't make much sense. His punishment for not making weight was losing his title. That's more than enough, so why should he just accept any decision on top of that? It was a close and competitive fight, but I agree with Diaz that he should have gotten the nod; by 7-5 rds or 8-4. Rakhimov was game and aggressive, but a lot of his flash punches were being completely blocked by Diaz' high guard. Jojo repeatedly blocked 3 and 4 punch combinations and landed clean back, so not sure at all what guys like Chris Mannix were seeing.

I thought this should have been a split decision win for Diaz by the slimmest of margins.
A draw is not the worse decision considering a split decision could easily have gone in favor of Rakhimov as well.
