Comments Thread For: Arum Eyeing Lomachenko Comeback Fight Against Masayoshi Nakatani In Summer

Vasiliy Lomachenko's return to the ring appears to be against a fighter that his most recent conqueror Teofimo Lopez once defeated. Top Rank boss Bob Arum revealed that he's eyeing a comeback fight for the two-time Olympics gold medalist winner Lomachenko against Masayoshi Nakatani.

Everyone with a belt says he needs a belt to fight them

Guess he's trying to become mandatory.

i also keep thinking of how much difficulty lomachenko had vs campbells reach.
then think nakatanis has more power and aggressiveness than cambpell...

Good Fight! Loma destroys him though! Nakatani defense is AWFUL

Nakatani has heart and is tough as hell but he's getting beat up here. Verdejo was lighting him up in stretches but he couldn't keep it up. Lomachenko won't have stamina issues like Verdejo.

Not mad at this fight though, he's not getting Lopez next so why not?

Nakatani isn't unbeatable. I picked him to beat Felix but he had a harder time doing it than I expected. Loma is far more slicker than Felix. This is probably a 70/30 Loma leaning fight.
Loma, like Wilder, isn't that well mentally (after all the controversy) and coming from a sad loss and injury, if it's true. He needs a confidence builder. Meanwhile, Nakatani is coming from his best victory ever.

Technically right, but not overall. Nakatani is a good fighter. I say he's better than anyone Loma can fight now, except Davis. His heart is something else. The guy is also huge and powerful.

Bad style for Loma, coming from a loss and 'injury.' Nakatani sent a message to the division with his last fight. Yes, skills pay the bills. In this case, Loma's skills won't be enough.
