That’s a good comeback fight. I would have expected a typical tune up but based on what I’ve seen from him Nakatani is at least a B+ fighter. He’s awkward, long, sneaky, can take a bear down just as good as he can dish one out.

Loma should be able to to outbox him but he has trouble with these taller fighters with reach. Nakatanis like a less polished version of Campbell with more power.

Loma UD12 while getting his bell rung a few times. If he manages to stop him (which I don’t see happening) that would be a pretty big statement

i think loma knew it was a tough fight and didnt want to be obligated to do it again if he won, unfortunately he lost because he fought like a spiked water wilder for the first 6 rounds, but now hes on the comeback trail fighting a solid top 10 opponent unlike devin haney who has never even been on the trail. haney is off in the bushes somewhere

This is a tough fight. Loma is in the wrong side of 30 for that weight.

I'd argue this IS a confidence builder. Let's not forgot Loma lost to perhaps one of the next gen stars & Nakatani almost lost to a guy most perceive as a failure. I dig Nakatani, but let's not make him someone he isn't.

And I agree mentally Loma didn't deal with this L well, but there are still levels to this. Loma has far more tools than Deontay. I think both guys fell into guys prepared to beat them like no one they've faced before, but Deontay lives & dies with the confidence he needs two perfect seconds in a fight to win & Loma strives for perfection all night.

Loma comes back with a shaved head and a sleeve full of tattoos. It's the comeback special.

            War Nakatani!

Ehhh well see. Arum and his typical bs. Haney should take this fight if queen Ryan and Fortuna avoid him

TANK,HANEY or GARCIA should be next for Lomo.

He just lost pretty handily. And Tanaka is not a walk in the park. Only seen him two times, vs Verdejo and Lopez and he didn’t look like an easy opponent. All fighters of all levels, even elite, are allowed a “comeback” fight after a loss. But still, Nakatani is not an easy comeback fight. It’s not like he’s a Steve Rolls level opponent.

Nakatani isn't unbeatable. I picked him to beat Felix but he had a harder time doing it than I expected. Loma is far more slicker than Felix. This is probably a 70/30 Loma leaning fight.
Felix was beaten him. The only reason he got the loss is because he got tired. He didn't pace himself and was zeroing on the ko. He was competing against Teo not the fighter in front of him.
