While that scenerio would be a good option, I don't think Loma should walk straight into a title shot - at any weight. Whichever weight he decides to continue on at (from what Arum is quoted it looks like 135), I think he needs to beat at least one top 5 fighter and earn his shot.

Nakatani or Verdejo would put him there. Both tough and rough fights. If I was his manager I'd pick Verdejo.

I think this is the ideal scenario: Loma fights the winner of Berchelt vs. Valdez, Stevenson fights the winner of Herring vs. Frampton, the winners unify at 130! All in-house fights for TR and ESPN, and if it's Loma vs. Stevenson, that's HUGE!

Of course it is his problem. A problem very easy to fix. He was give of take five minutes away from victory. But like you said, he needs to rethinks his approach and know when to go all in.

I was never more impressed with Verdejo until that night. I saw his pro debut live and saw most of his fights.

Before the Lopez-Loma fight was agreed to, Loma was all set to fight Verdejo. I was very critical of even the suggestion at the time. Now? It'd be an exciting come back fight for both. I give the edge to Loma. Felix has a heart and balls, unless the Nakatani fight finished him off.

The psychological question now is: How would Loma react and deal with falling mercilessly from that BS pedestal his fanboys put him on, inside the ring? We saw how he dealt with it outside the ring.

That's why I say Loma should take a tune up fight first. Nakatani is no tune up. One more loss and Loma is out of boxing, except in a pedestrian capacity for the up and comers. Same for Verdejo- the definition of a cross-roads fight.
