BOYCOTT PPV, DAZN exploiting the limited experience of non app users... ridiculous

There’s two ways you can look at this.

I could say, for fun, that DAZN is exploiting the limited thinking-ergonomics for how to watch a Canelo fight. It’s like, “if you’re ******, buy a $50 Canelo fight from a cable subscriber.”

It amazes me that fans still don’t know how to screen mirror off their mobile /tablet devices to a smart TV. Or rather, how does one not know how to download the app to your smart tv?

What’s worse, if you buy a DAZN fight for $19.99, you get a whole month’s worth?! Yes that’s a paradox. lol. $19.99 is worse that $50 for a one time experience without a months free of boxing?

I get a Canelo fight for 2quid. I feel really really bad for you lot. Don’t buy the PPV, just buy one month’s DAZN unlimited content for $19.99

It's $69.99 for the cable version but with 4 months worth. So it's actually quite decent and means they won't be needing to stream it.
They also get the matchroom UK cards there which inc the AJ fight and might well also inc Whyte vs Povetkin. We on the otherhand have to pay for the sky sports subscription aswell as the odd ppv.

Btw, stream the spanish one next time. I'm sure you are like everyone else and absolutely cannot stand chris mannix, sergio mora and todd grisham's cringey commentary.
I don't know who else is out there but Paulie Malignagi is a free agent.

The only fights DAZN is airing I'd be willing to pay for are exactly a month apart so they can get another bill cycle for those who cancel in between unworthy cards. I dont appreciate that so they're not getting my money.

All of this pricing just hurts my head. 2quid for a Canelo fight and a months worth, I’m just very upset with the American region. Even with Idec breaking it down to $8.50 a month if you buy a full year is about 3 times 2 quid more or less.

But seriously, are there people who don’t know how to screen mirror to TV or watch content off a smart TV? Wifi isn’t a new technology. It just saddens me that as we try to push the sport to more people DAZN, who in my honest opinion don’t want to, but throw a bone to people whom don’t have a clue about apps but watch a Canelo fight. I just don’t believe it. And it’s wrong.

Most American fans don't really give a fuck about DAZN. They have a couple of American names that they don't know what to do with, Haney and Andrade. Who even cares about those sleep inducing couple?

If you are a Euro, with their mostly Euro content, DAZN is worth it.

Don't forget free steaming. I wouldn't pay two dollars a month for DAZN.

THEY get the UK content too. Not all of it, if it's a sky sports ppv fight then it's upto dazn, but they usually pick up AJ fights.

We have to pay for the sky sports subscription to get the UK non-ppv cards. So we're actually paying more.

As a matter of fact we were already picking up Matchroom US cards under the same sky sports subscription. The £1.99 extra is just for Canelo/GBP and GGG cards now. Sky werent picking those up before. KLeep in mind they're also 4-5am cards so not as popular here anyway. Many people i know who watch boxing tell me they cba signing upto dazn.

If you're in the US and pay $99 you get a full years subscription for now right? that's the cheapest option of all of them. So i don't see the fuss.

the problem occured due to covid last year when they werent putting on cards. I'm not sure what they did, but they should have frozen membership so customers don't miss out at the time.

Lastly, you're wrong. There are many traditionalists who are old and can't be bothered streaming. There are people who find the stream lags also. Plus by putting dazn content on cable through a partnership, they also get exposure on there, whatever little that might be.

Matchroom look like they are going to put on an event every single week from pretty much this week. Obviously some will be different counties (including Italy for example) so the standard isn’t always going to be top class but dazn (outside uk) is going to get pretty much all these fights. Then obviously there is the other content too which currently includes the golden boy cards.

I still don’t really get the moaning so many Americans do, yes you might not like every card but do you really like all the cards on showtime or espn either? If your paying less and getting more quantity at least you can decide what you want.

As others have said, uk only has the American cards at moment (and no other live content) but if they grow and we don’t need to pay ppv for the likes of Whyte vs Povetkin because it’s on dazn then I’d prefer that personally!

I have seen dozens of YouTube channels that are Hispanic American based and they promote DAZN. The problem is that some like you don’t acknowledge the melting pot of “Americans.” Americans are Filipinos, Puerto Ricans, Mexicans, Dominicans, Ecuadorians, Nicaraguans, etc...

You can’t assume Hispanic boxing fans don’t want to buy Canelo fights. I don’t know what u mean by a “couple American names” and just starting Haney or Andrade. You’re taking the piss.

You make it sound like the only “buying” fan is black?

I’m not wrong. Exploiting the elderly or “traditionalists” is wrong. DAZN is hi******* the dummies that PPV off PBC events which DAZN doesn’t even need.

The world revolves around streaming media. DAZN subs keep growing and are top tier all throughout the web, surpassing Top Rank and PBC.
