"Lopez and the Kambosos have been unable to reach an agreement, which forced the sanctioning body to schedule a purse bid for February 18th."

Bob Arum: Teofimo Lopez vs George Kambosos Jr will go to purse bid, managers want ‘crazy’ money

Arum instead hammered home a point to me that was well taken. Basically, he said that too many folks are not really wrapping their brains around the fact that the pandemic is still a major league factor.

“Nobody is ******,” the 89-year-old promoter noted. “Oscar is not ******, Eddie is not ******, Al Haymon is not ******, they’re all slow walking this stuff because we’ve got to get robust spectators. And the better the fight is, the more spectators will be there to contribute to the overall (revenue) pie.”

The IBF will have a date for the Lopez-Kambosos purse bid no later than Monday, Arum said, adding his belief that managers David McWater (Lopez) and Peter Kahn (Kambosos) are “crazy” in their asks for the matchup.

It’s not one of the great fights of all time, and this is the way it’s solved, with a purse bid.”

Devin has that slick defensive style of boxing... what do they call it? Sweet science? Urban style? Whatever it is but I bring this up because Teofimo mentioned that Devin is the type of boxer that makes him
Want to knock him out... honestly I think most non urban style of fans want and feel he same way. We always want to see those type of fighters knocked out because it’s hard y do. So when it happens it’s cool af 😂

Going to be interesting to see what the bids are for this, i doubt they will be much bidders and even so the amount wont be anywhere near what Lopez made vs loma... 80/20 split isnt it? I rekon the pot wont be more then $1.2mil if that. There is no interest in this fight. Kombosos will be a punch bag for lopez to toy with and then finish when he feels like it. Think there wil be sum low ball bidds comin in for this one
