Duran is there too as for the old timers it tough to say cuz the sport has evolved so much guys like greb and hank might have just been journeymen in modern times to tell you they didn’t even know what a combination was during those times they loved to lunge in and throw 1 shot at a time point is the sport was very primitive during those days.

Ggg also mimicked Chavez st style he was thought to fight like him due to there iron chins and heavy hands it worked for them.

Not exactly although he was up there. For instance, Harry Greb was tops as was Ted Kid Lewis, and several more.

As far as “pressure,” not so much cutting off the ring, P4P, guys who pressed others bigger than them would be PAC, Canelo, Tyson, Marciano, Duran, Liston. True Grit chessplaying

It’s not so much elite defense of slipping, dipping, parrying, etc all within range, FOR ME, it’s about the guys you press whom are significantly bigger than them.

pressure fighters dont exist anymore. they were rendered extinct by the clincher movement of the aughts.

There is actually hardly anything on film of Harry Greb, but a little shadow boxing and skipping etc. But all the old timers gave himahuge reputation when I was a kid , andn he was, after all the only person who ever beat Gene Tunney. Tunney had ove r 80 fights and beat Dempsey twice. Another good pressure fighter was Henry Armstrong, the first and maybe only fighter to hold 3 different division titles at the same time. He won the featherweight first, then the welter and then th lighteight. Odd order, but he was always putweighed and had an engine like a NASA Rocket. Huge lungs.

I think he was only 138 lbs when he won the Welterweight crown and put Barney Ross into retirement. Ross was ready for it anyway, with over 80 fights and many of them title ones. A three div champ himself, 140, then 135 andthen 147.. I think the first who did it. But not at the samw time like Armstrong. There may be some film on him, there is on Ross. He was one of the Greats. Was a champion for years with many defences. They made movies about him. A WW2 Hero supreme..

I have seen Armstrong, perpetual motion of a sort. But I don't care much for watching windmill pressure guys. I prefer science with a hefty wallop.

I HIGHLY RECCOMEND that you should read up on Barney Ross. If ever there was an inspiration for Humanity his life story is IT. A hero in every way possible. They don't make them like him any more-if they ever did.

I also reccoment reading about Young Stribling. I admire both of those boxers as boxers -but mainly as REAL people.

He certainly was one bad ass dude who was relentless with an iron chin.

Chavez was a great fighter, but he fought so many bums.

When he was 65-0 he fought a guy that was 0-1.
When he was 77-0 he fought a guy that was 7-2.
When he was 82-0 he fought a guy that was 10-10.

He's got some decent to good names on his record, but he was definitely protected in a lot of his fights. I wouldn't refer to him as the greatest of anything.
