Comments Thread For: Bob Arum: Eddy Reynoso Sees Something In Berchelt That Valdez Can Exploit

Bob Arum doesn't think Oscar Valdez would've even accepted his mandated match with Miguel Berchelt unless Valdez's trainer convinced the former WBO featherweight champion he can win. Berchelt is consistently listed as more than a 3-1 favorite versus Valdez, the number one contender for Berchelt's WBC super featherweight title. Arum still senses complete confidence from Valdez, who is trained by Reynoso, renowned for his work with Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez.

If Valdez wins it is because of Valdez. It is because of his ability to persevere over obstacles including a overhyped trainer. This is Oscar Valdez not Oscar Alvarez!

Berchelt is a very solid champion and it's going to take a special fighter having a good night to unseat him. Valdez isn't that guy in my opinion.

Oscar will go out on his shield. There’s a lot of pride with the team he’s affiliated with. He just has to follow Reynoso’s tape and instruction for what they trained for in camp. He sparred Ryan Garcia and Nery as well as Canelo. His confidence has skyrocketed. I hope he wins. More anti Reynoso fans will become believers.

Maybe Reynoso sees some slippage of Berchelt. Canelo and his team are the best in the business at noticing when a fighter is starting to slip, and fighting him at just the right time to give them an advantage. No one does this better than them

Reynoso is a damn good trainer. Nothing overhyped about him.

Berchelt stops him in seven rounds or less. Mikey "saw" something before fighting Spence.

Arum is right. The fans want to see a great fight not some " slick " boxers only dancing, pot-shotting and hugging using the excuse of the cowards : " It´s hit and not be hit", " It´s the sweet science ", etc.
