If they bulk him up for 140, it's not a big deal, because he's 5'11" so he was going there in 2022-2023 anyway. Plus Toefimo Lopez will be at 140 b4 Christmas! Maybe Devin Haney too!
Pac went up from 135 to 147 to fight Oscar after only fighting one time at 135. It can be done. For one, The kid is naturally bigger than Pac and probably walks around in the 150s at least. If the fight is at 147 he doesn’t HAVE to weigh in at 147 he can come in at 141-142 and he’s still gonna look bigger than Pac who at highest comes in at 146.

Most welters weigh between 156-165 on fight night. 150 is the highest Pac has ever come in and that was Margarito. Pac and Garcia would probably come in on fight night weighing the same or damn close.

That’s why in theory, Pac is probably the safest WW to come up in weight to fight. Because he’s not a real WW even though he’s been fighting there

Kingfry is not running the show. It should be at 147 lbs or never.

they are in damage control now

they leaked out this fight for feelers and the public isnt as receptive as they though.

manny wants a cash out fight, hes 42 now, i dont blame him. mcgreggor was his top pick but after his KO loss they needed a back up in garcia

they thought the public might buy it because manny is pretty small and garcia is much younger but didnt expect the boxing press and fans to trash it as much as they have

it sucks for them because even their back up didnt do well in his last fight. sure he still won but he was dropped by a light hitting 135 pounder so boxing fans know he cant take mannys punches.

That is the downside to trying to pick out an "easy" opponent, they have to atleast look convincing in their last fight and neither mcgreggor or garcia have looked threatening lately.

He's in a great position! Why did Pacquiao consider KingRy as an opponent? It's not because of any accomplishments, because he doesn't have any. It's because of his following, which is close to Canelo's following, and Pac loves fighting for that Mexican fan base! So KingRy can easily say 140 or no deal! He's gonna succeed with or without Pacquiao! Pacquiao can choose Mikey, and still have a great fight, but KingRy takes it to a different level!

Pac went to 147 for Oscar because Oscar was fighting at 154, and was a former MW Champion! So asking Pac to come down, is the same as Pac asking Oscar to come down! Pacquiao never came back down, because the BIG fights were at 147! That's not the case for KingRy! The 4 Kings are at 135! It would SUCK to go to 147, lose to a 42 year old man, who has been out the ring for nearly 2 years, then try to come back down to 135, or 140, and get demolished by Teofimo Lopez! That's NOT a good look! 140 or no deal!

Well the difference in all this is Oscar asked for the fight with Pac. There was no way Pac was coming up to 154 after just coming up 3 weight classes for a fight he didn’t ask for. But Pac was in no position to dictate terms to Oscar, Hence why Oscar came down 1 and Pac went up 2.

Here we are and again 13 years later it’s Garcia calling to fight Pac not the other way around. Pac is the A side of this fight happens it happens on his terms. Being that this kid is naturally bigger than Pac, him
Coming up is not as big a disadvantage as it was for Pac against Oscar

Personally, I think you're overestimating Garcia's position here.

                  But let's see . . .

                  Thanks.

I don't see the difference. Far as I know, Pac's people reached out to Ryan Garcia? Ryan is taller than Pac, but nowhere near as strong and dense! I think Ryan loses @ 147, but 50/50 @ 140! Forever, all we heard is that Pacquiao is not a natural WW, so him going to 140 should not be a problem!

Manny Pacquiao-Ryan Garcia fight not happening, Golden Boy Promotions exec says

Ryan Garcia's dream of stepping into the ring to take on Manny Pacquiao will have to remain just that for now, according to his promoter.

Golden Boy Promotions, which promotes the 22-year-old Garcia (21-0, 18 KOs), told ESPN Knockout that a fight between the two isn't in the cards.

"There's nothing to talk about there," Golden Boy executive Eric Gomez told ESPN. "They contacted us, but it turns out there's nothing to talk about. That fight isn't going to happen."

Golden Boy Promotions says a talked-about fight between Manny Pacquiao and Ryan Garcia "isn't going to happen," but Garcia's rep says the two sides are still discussing terms.
