Comments Thread For: Reynoso: I Don't Like Pacquiao For Ryan Garcia, Fight I Like More Is With Tank Davis

Eddy Reynoso respects the role he gets to play in the career of Ryan Garca. Still, he is not without his opinion on what he feels is in the best fights to be made for the rising lightweight contender. Garca (21-0, 18KOs) has enjoyed a firestorm of publicity in the wake of his 7th round knockout of England's Luke Campbell on Jan. 2nd, the first major card of the new year. With the win came the interim WBC lightweight title, though Garca seemed less interested in a shot at Devin Haney's full title but rather a lucrative Pay-Per-View showdown with Gervonta Tank' Davis (24-0, 23KOs).

Garcia-Tank will end in KO if they fight. Whoever connects first.

Pacquiao would light this kid up imo. Too much experience at the top level. The Tank fight is the one most fans would like to see.

A catch-weight of 140lbs. seems fair to me! Going up to 147, then trying to return to 135 seems too risky! Getting beat by a 42-yr. old man, who has not fought in nearly 2 years, would NOT be a good look! I would say 140lbs. or no deal!

Never thought id read "Pacquiao is the naturally bigger guy". Ryan has the height but it would take time to get the frame his body needs for 140

If Ryan should beat Pacquiao at 140lbs., should he just stay there? Teofimo Lopez is moving up this year anyway!

Reynoso knows very well about minimizing risk. He’s been calculated at picking which fights to take and which not to take for his fighters for years. In this case, it’s A. Ryan gets knocked out. B. Ryan gets knocked out. So pick your poison.

Reynoso is a great trainer, hopefully ryan obeys him on this one, anyone think Ryan is a shroom head?

This is crazy management by Garcia's handlers. Why do fighters go through what they do if not to go for the biggest prize when it presents itself?? The biggest money (by far), the opportunity for world stardom, have an ATG on your record? Give that up for Tank Davis?!? That is insane! The Tank fight will always be there, whether Garcia wins or loses. Even at 42 Pac's still a risk, but there is no risk in boxing right now MORE WORTH TAKING than this fight for Ryan Garcia. He wins this and he's up there with Canelo as the face of the sport. IMO, Ryan wins this fight by KO.
