Damn, this was a heavyweight war. Briggs had his early moments of glory, but as has been the case in his career, ran out of gas. Lennox Lewis in a rare moment of entertainable combat, defending against Shannon Briggs.

Briggs has severe asthma. Thats why he ran out of gas.

briggs had so much heart and not enough defense. if he didnt drop his hands so much, he probly would have won that fight.

that wasnt really a war, but it was entertaining.

gatti/ward was a war.
DLH/mayorga was entertaining in its destruction, as was this fight.

This is one of my favorite Lewis defenses. There was tension about what Briggs was capable of; many people thought that he could come in there and had the power to bother Lewis.

In fact, I don't think Lewis was hurt, but he was troubled by the handspeed that Briggs had.

Then Lewis just took over COMPLETELY.

I will never forget those knockdowns.

My favorite style wise was when Lewis just jabbed to the body and then timed a perfect straight right **** on the jaw.

There was one before that in which Briggs got off with some solid shots which Lewis just took and smiled back before digging in three savage shots that put Briggs into the ropes and down.

Class fight.

very true, i dont think alot of people liked the way he fought tyson, especcially at first when he kept clinching. i think thats why people think hes boring; they just dont like seeing him win!
