        C

hes the weakest 4 division champ in history and his best wins are what, paulie m and ponce de leon?

He hasnt won a fight in 4 years now and hes only 31, how do you go from 27-31 years old, what should be your prime, completely winless?

youre a C level fighter, thats how

          B. It’s all mental with AB IMO. Last few fights he refused to throw punches.

I am going to give him a C, it would be much higher but thinking like a teacher in a grade school and as if he is one of my students.....I know he has so much potential but is lazy and doesn't want to put in the work to succeed to the level he could.

If you were to grade him only on his career pre-Chino, then he'd be an A. He was a killer at 140 and below. His career afterwards has been utterly dismal though, considering the level of talent he's got. He can't get wins against anyone except tomato cans at this point. People will point to his embarrassing Ls to Mikey and Pac as well as the beating he got off Maidana as the low points of his career, but those were at least against good fighters. For me the fight that really told me the jig was up was when he sc****d by with a draw against Jessie Vargas, who imo is the very epitome of a mediocre fighter. When you look at what Broner accomplished at those lower weights and then you see him barely managing to win a lousy draw against a guy who he should be easily beating, you just can't help but wonder where it all went wrong - whether Maidana really took his soul or if he's basically destroyed himself with his dumbass lifestyle outside the ring. The worst part is that when he's been forced to actually fight he's shown flashes of brilliance, even recently. I remember the beautiful hook that he floored Porter with - the fight was long gone by that point but in that one moment he was his old self again. Again, he let rounds slip against Mikey, but when he took the front foot (once again too little too late) he made an impression - even though Mikey won the fight clearly on the cards, his face was battered and bruised while Broner was more or less undamaged. He really could recapture that old form and be brilliant again, even now. But the thing is, whether it relates to matters in or out of the ring, the guy just never goddamn learns.

I gave him a C overall. That's probably generous of me, I really couldn't justify giving him anything higher but I could probably go lower. Squandered potential is really aggravating to me.
