Why not do The Contender with heavyweights?

I must admit, I haven't seen an episode of the new series yet, I keep forgetting to watch it.

But why would/wouldn't it work with heavyweights?

Imagine... I dunno... Briggs saying he'll pick Brock. Or a couple of ****ers we haven't even heard of. You could even put Audley in there for the laughs. Tupac, Tupac!

Well you'd have to have at least half the participants be Russian or other eastern European (assuming you want a fair sample of real fringe contenders), and it's hard to imagine this making for good Hollywood style television.

Yeah, but imagine Guinn saying to Audley "I've already beat your ass, *****" and Audley saying "Tupac, Tupac! I is from de streets! I'll mess you up, it's already been written, innit?"

you can't tell me that's not good TV.

Besides, you wouldn't get the slowness, you'd get all that ********** editing.

these guys who are on the show right now are all a bunch of nobodies, none of them is ever going to reach sergio mora or peter manfredos level.
