Kubrat rabbit-punched Bogdan Dinu because he was on the verge of getting TKO? then sexually-assaulted a woman on the same night, you say? These Toprank HW's get away with murder.

Im not a Wilder fan at all but I also give him a pass on this one. Fury completely broke this mfer mentally. He needs a confidence booster.

That's fine by me, he has been physically beaten and mentally destroyed and will of been out of the ring for over a year.

But let's keep it real, we can all remember what Wilder fans had to say about Joshua facing old bum Pulev, even though that was a forced mandatory defence. Dinu got destroyed by Pulev and Wilder is CHOOSING to face the guy who lost to "old bum" Pulev. Talk about fighting somebody's left overs, Wilder would be fighting Joshua's left overs left overs. That's some real stale eating.

Wilder, 44 fights in, was unbeaten and long reigning world heavyweight champion Wilder, you could argue that Dinu would easily slide in as one of Wilders best opponents on his resume. Says all you need to know about Wilder and his resume.

As bad as Martin is, he could still give Wilder trouble due to the fact Wilder's confidence is zero and Martin does have some skill and could be a tricky southpaw - really hard to look good against him for someone with no boxing skill like Wilder.

Expect Wilder to fight at least 2 total cans before anything resembling a competitive opponent.

Lets be honest, that's how he got to 40-0 in the first place!

I'm on my phone right now and ain't really got the time to go digging back and cross referencing between boxrec and the WBA historical rankings to see if there's any logic behind it, but that's how you can find out. I've done it for plenty of other fighters. WBA let's you specify rankings by month and year so you can kinda backtrack.

If you want to do the same with the WBC I use Wayback Machine or similar.

I'm OK with this... I mean, yeah, Bogdan ain't anyone's idea of a top shelf opponent, but Deontay's coming off a long layoff a brutal beat down and possibly some kinda mental meltdown. Let Bogdan get his payday and Wilder get back in the KO lane I say. Hope for something a little better next time out.

Anyone else get nostalgic for the Bigger's Better tourneys at the mention of Bogdan's name?

Exactly. He took a sustained beating and got TKOd. Of course he's not going to take an overly difficult fight his first time out, no boxer would.
