Golden Boy Promotions to ESPN Soon?

As most know, DAZN was not happy with GBP during the Canelo lawsuit. They still ended up or will end up putting on Canelo's next three fights, just not with GBP involved. The cards that GBP put on don't have exactly the biggest of budgets and GBP will be putting on a few fights on the upcoming Ring City USA cards. Could GBP be trying to cut a deal with ESPN to get some dates? Arum has made it known that if anyone wants to fight on ESPN, they have to go through them first. Is a partnership brewing between the two companies or were they just possibly discussing a few potential match ups in the future?

Seems like a natural fit. They have Ryan Garcia for the casual fans and chicks and they have programming for espn2 and espn Latino with their stable. Much wider audience then DAZN in the USA.

Would be great for the sport imo because the the gbp minor cards with their young guys are always exciting.

Would be a great replacement for FNF or the old Tuesday USA cards.

    Hope it gets done.

Think they were talking about some matches to set up. With GB big stable of fighter roster and with covid hard to have them all fighting in DAZN. Last year their was already some of their boxers fighting in TR card. Once things come back to normalcy see GB matches also come back to Facebook Live.

Gbp have a very limited fighter base but having Garcia is a big coup and opportunity for them to use as leverage to make a move. I’m not sure DAZN need gbp but having said that I would prefer them to stay together to make DAZN more worthwhile purchasing !

Garcia, Munguia and Ortiz would be big losses for DAZN

Yeah, some really nice potential match ups to be made between the two. Lopez vs Garcia obviously but Ortiz Jr will be a mandatory to fight Crawford likely soon.

But GBP doesn't have a big budget with DAZN. I believe it is only 1.8M a card. Soon that isn't going to be enough for the likes of Ortiz Jr and definitely not enough for Garcia, though DAZN can just up the license fee for any card he's on.

Definitely something to keep an eye out on though. Strategic that GBP put this picture out.

GBP has bigger star potential youngsters than Matchroom does. Garcia is already big and can get even bigger if he beats the likes of Tank or Pacquiao. Ortiz Jr is another potential star. DAZN would be ****** to let these guys go. But they also don't pay much to GBP cards and obviously don't like Oscar all that much. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.
