It's hard not to like Ryan but he does get ahead of himself here. Davis would fight him next I'm sure but it's Ryan whose choosing a different route. I'm confident he'll go on to do great things in the sport but for now he must bait down and be taken on face value as a fighter who was heavily dropped in his last fight by a decent puncher but not a killer in the mould of Davis. It remains to be seen what the actual details of this fight between Pacquaio and Garcia will be, so I'm reserving judgement subject to knowing more, but I struggle to see how 42-year-old Manny taking on an actual boxer in Garcia who appears to have some actual talent at boxing is less credible than 40-year-old Mayweather taking on zero-pro-boxing-experience McGregor (let's remember that Mayweather includes that fight as his 50th pro fight).
