Vergil Vs. Mo now for the WBO International welterweight Championship

Vacant WBO International Welterweight Championship Vergil Ortiz, Jr. vs. Maurice Hooker!!

Nice, the fight just became a title eliminator for Bud’s 147lbs belt. Vergil already holds the WBA gold belt @ welterweight and is also ranked in the Top 5 of the WBC 147 lbs rankings. One way or another Vergil is inching closer to becoming a champion.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I can't see Bob allowing Vergil to get a shot before Crawford has a big money fight.

Hopefully though by the end of the year he will be the mando. That would be an interesting fight.

      Hooker's a bum. Ortiz KO's him under 5 rounds.

This makes sense Hooker was the WBO World Champ and is still highly ranked with WBO. Now that he is officially moving to 147 they will transfer his ranking to 147, Vergil is #2 with WBO so I can see them making this a eliminator to become the WBO mandatory. If Ortiz wins one way or another will get a title shot in 2021. For Crawford's WBO belt or for the WBA belt if it becomes vacant with Pacquiao not defending his WBA super belt in 2 years. Ortiz already holds WBA Gold will become the mandatory for a vacant WBA "super" or "regular" belt if one free up.

Which is moot because the WBO won't force Crawford anyway.
