Lopez is the man because he's a damn good fighter, not because he beat Loma. Lopez passes the eye test. Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis are interested in exhibition fights and Devin Haney hasn’t fought anyone.

Lopez went into the lion’s den and came back out with the lion’s head.

Everyone else likes to bark a lot but that’s about it.

Devin Haney at least has contingency plans though. He has already stated that he will face Jorge Linares or Javier Fortuna if he can't get Teofimo Lopez or Ryan Garcia.

Teo did get the victory, however it's worth mentioning that he was also the first of that group to even get a shot. It's not like the other guys have fought at the top level and lost. They are simply waiting for their turn and Teo happened to be first.
