Paul Williams would have beaten Mayweather @ 147

Paul Williams was 6'2 and threw the most punches per round in boxing when he fought. Stylistically he's hell of anybody at welterweight.

Am I the only person who thought that had he and Mayweather fought he would have won?

He also would have beaten Pacquiao easily

Nah Paul gave up too much to beat Mayweather. His defense was his offense, he gave up his height and was open for counters which is what Floyd does best. I think in a spirited effort he loses on the cards

Maybe if he had a jab. But he didn't. So no. Paul Williams never fought tall enough. The only thing he had going for himself in this fight was his activity rate. But Floyd neutralizes that, he always has.

            Yes.

Vicious onslaught of punches and granite chin with a relentless Will.

Mayweather didn’t have the pop to back up Paul, I say an undefeated Paul Williams beats Mayweather.

I think Mayweather was much to skillful to lose to Williams. Williams's high work rate might win him a few rounds but only a few rounds. Mayweather's good defense and punching speed, timing and accuracy should win him most of the rounds. Lara beat Williams easily but was robbed. Williams had other losses but Mayweather has no losses and would not have lost to Williams. Mayweather won about every round against Canelo who was better than Williams was in my opinion. It is sad Williams was crippled in his fighting prime but some make him better than he really was.

Did you see Quintana repeatedly timing Paul with straight right hands? I'm sure Mayweather would've done the same. I'd pick Mayweather, but it would've been a fun fight to watch. Floyd would have to bring the heat or get swarmed.

As much I don’t like Gaywheater he would of beat Paul in a tough battle. Gaywheater was too technical for Paul William, all that going forward would of been met by right hands all night.
