6:35 into the fight, Bates puts his hands up in an odd way which sort of looks like he is signalling to Holyfield to pour it on. To me it clearly looks like a fixed fight from that point. Most of Holy's shots are hitting Bates' gloves until the ref stops the fight.

You must be out of your mind. Bates was a tomato can who had no chance. After being pounded in the first round, wasnt it obvious that Bates was totally out of his league?Originally posted by ddeg10http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xj8Xo-EJZx4

I am a big Holyfield fan but it seemed to be fixed to me. In the first round, he backed Holyfield up and hit him with a good shot or two until he corners himself and lets Holyfield unload, waiting for the ref to stop the fight. He was trying to help Holyfield knock him out and give any opportunity to do so. The second round 'signal' just looks obvious to me.Originally posted by boskiYou must be out of your mind. That's a good observation DDEG10, nice that you picked it up. I thought that the stoppage seemed to come a bit soon, but Bates was already blown out and cut up pretty much around both eyes. I think that Holyfield is seriously deteriorated, but not enough to have a fight fixed against Bates.Comment

maybe a little premature, especially with like 10 seconds left in the round. but there is no way bates survives the 3rd round, and if he did he would have gotten knocked out cold in the 4th.
Bates was waaaaaay out of Holyfields league. Still an impressive win for HOLY in my opinion. i didnt think he could finish bates off THAT quickly.Comment
