I say Andre Berto, who is like Shane Mosley with better power. Number two would be Peter Quillin, a guy you will be hearing alot about in a few years. Third is Vanes Martirosyan, who is like Kostya Tszyu with a vandetta.

To be honest, I haven't seen much to be interested about Demetrius. Really, hes not that elusive, he can't punch, and hes not that fast. I have a feeling if his name was Demetrius Rivera or Johnson, we would never have heard of him.

          Tell that to Mike Warrick.

very true, but i do think eventually we would have heard of him. but definetly not yet.

and his brutal KO of that guy on ESPN showed he could punch, but the fact that he could have been losing that fight until that point, was kind of a turn off.

i think hes just growing into the sport, he'll be a good all around fight eventually

I would, but I never heard of him. I dunno what a KO of Mike Warrick means, but it sure doesn't mean move over Earnie Shavers.

If you are standing in the way of a punch and give a guy a free shot, even Pernell Whitaker showed that you can get some highlight reel **** on the end of a fist. If a guy is that inept that he would let a guy nail him with a clean shot that he was able to turn his weight on, he probably wasn't a career defining opponent.

It was vicious and absolutely brutal, you can say he cant punch all you want, but by what standards. This isnt Sergio Mora were talking about, I have seen Hopkins blast somebody out last year also. That Hopkins knockout was so bad i dont even think there is a knockout this year to rival it, period, and i dont think there will be.

You cant just write Hopkins off because for all the things you say he doesnt do, he doesnt exactly do anything exceptionally wrong. He is a decent and is being brought along nicely, I think your wrong about him.

So basically anyone who gets "caught" is giving someone a free shot? That guy was caught, period, and another thing, I will tell you from experiance that when you know the punch is coming its easier to take. Mayorga allowed people to get a free shot in, and he knew when it was coming also, thus making it easier to take. He did it to Vernon Forrest, who isnt exactly a light hitter. Mayorga's chin isnt iron. With that said, I think your being overly critical, and far too analytical about Hopkins, for everything your explaning about why you think he isnt that great, it can be said about alot of fighters at this stage in their early careers. What do you suppose he do? His style is working for him, its winning him fights, and in some cases, scores him a few knockouts, what more is he supposed to do?
