Regardless of who fault it is. TS is right and I was slowly thinking it months ago. Dude holding the belt hostage.

If he gon fight Conor he need to vacate.

This my only issue with legends still fighting, sometimes they get in the way of weight classes moving forward.

Imo.... He should take a real fight then fight Conor after. Why waste a training camp right now at that age on a no risk money fight that you can take at anytime.

I don't blame him if he wants to duck Bud or Errol, he should stay far away from them, but he also needs to vacate the belt

Pac has the sort of status in boxing were he can do what he wants.

Mayweather was the same, didn’t defend his WBA 154 belt from Sep 2013 until he eventually vacated in early 2016.

Sanctioning bodies aren’t gonna bite the hands that feed them. It’s on them. Not the fighters.

It's actually good for the WBA because it justifies their having 3 champions instead of the logical one... Maybe they'll borrow the WBC's "franchise" concept and bump that up to 4.

I'm with you on this bro, although the blame should be on the WBA. What a joke of an organization

We need ONE belt and ONE belt only per weight class.

BAN the SUPER and JUNIOR weight classes. Talent is talent, give me a great 154lb fighter over a good 160lb fighter any day. For the best to fight the best we can't keep separating them by such small weight classes.

                  Original 8 all day.

That will end all of this bull**** in boxing today.
Agree with most but not the getting rid of the weight classes. It’s not the same as it used to be and there’s a real science to weight cutting now.

You’ll have guys for example that can’t continue making 147 because they lose the ability to cut 10 pounds. So imagine Bud (who’s a big guy to be fair) can’t make 147 because he cant squeeze that last pound out. He suddenly is a natural 154 pounder or so fighting young guys that can still cut 20 pounds from 160. It’s downright dangerous to put Bud in against Jermall. He’d get mollywhopped by almost any top 5 160 but it’s not for a lack of talent. Size does matter in combat sports at the top level.

Chavez Jr when he was able to get down to 160 would run through Bud. The size difference isn’t JUST the difference of 147 to 160 anymore in this era of weight cutting. It can be a difference of 30 pounds on fight night.

I think the one belt sounds awesome and would solve a lot of issues in an ideal world but in practice would probably create so many as well if we think about the networks and promoters and the way boxing works.

Imagine if Bud was the only champion within close to 30 pounds (because from 136 to 147 and 159 to 147) and he refused to leave top rank and top rank held literally so much leverage over everyone else that they’d just hold it hostage forever.

A lot of what makes boxing great is also what makes it s hitty. It’s crazy

I do not agree that there should only be one belt.

Unfications make for great fights and great promotion.

I do think however the belt orgs should rank champions from other sanctioning orgs, that way, for example, Spence or Crawford could become mandatory for Pacquiao and vice versa.

Unifications only mean something because you've been brainwashed into thinking it's something more special than it really is but the fact is if we only had 1 belt, every fight would be BETTER than a unification. Because the champion would fight the NUMBER ONE contender every time, which means more than just being a belt holder.
