You're right that the likely time of the fight and the all-British involvement will put a ceiling on what it can do in the US, but that doesn't neccessarily preclude doing 'Mayweather money' (which I would define as each fighter getting north of $100m). A lot depends on that site fee.
Truly conservative numbers would be:
UK: 1.5m buys at 25 quid = $52m
Site fee: $40m
US PPV: 200k buys at $80 = $16m
DAZN worldwide rights (I don't really know) but let's say $20m.
All together this is about $130m -- and not in Mayweather territory.
What I would call plausible/likely numbers:
UK: 2m buys at 25 quid = $70m
Site fee:$60m
US PPV: 250k buys at $80 = $20m
DAZN worldwide (once again don't really know) , let's keep it at $20m
Together = $170m. Still not Mayweather numbers.
Very optimistic numbers:
UK: 3m buys at 30 quid = $126m
Site fee: $100m
US PPV: 500k buys at $80 = $40m
DAZn worldwide rights: $50m
Together: $316m.
That, I think, would possibly translate to $100m for each fighter. Those numbers are unlikely for the PPVs, but I think that site fee could possibly happen. Who knows how one of these oil kingdoms might value having a fight of this magnitude associated forever with their country?
Saudi Aramco generates profit of over $100 bn each year, so even something crazy like $200m would be a drop in the ocean for them.
