Comments Thread For: Joseph Diaz-Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov Title Fight is Back On

The fight between junior lightweight world titlist Joseph Diaz Jr. and mandatory challenger Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov is back on. About a week ago, Rakhimov tested positive for Covid-19 and the fight was called off. However, Rakhimov has since had additional Covid-19 tests that have come back negative, allowing the fight on Feb. 13 to move forward as originally planned, Robert Diaz of Golden Boy Promotions, Diaz's promoter, told BoxingScene.com on Tuesday.

Excellent. This fight need to happen. If Rakhimov wins, it’ll shake up the 130 lb division. The week after that, we’ll be getting Berchelt vs Valdez. Can’t wait for this.

Nice! Really want to see this matchup. Hope we get the best from both fighters. The thing I worry about is judging whenever there is Uzbeks involved. Sometimes they walk away feeling like a lefty. While the Mexican American is wondering what happened. Ask Daniel Roman how matchroom and Hearn's judges treated him. Besides all that should be a good fight looking forward to it.

You thought Roman/Akhmadaliev was a robbery? Close fight with 3 close cards. I thought the right man won, but would gladly watch a rematch.
