I thought he looked composed and a little crafty. Akhmedov was kind of a sucker for that uppercut that night but he started out good. It was how Gongora stayed composed and put himself back in it that I was impressed by.

      Good fight, worth checking out.

OK, had never heard of him before that fight, will take a look. Maybe Matchroom starts him off with someone like Roamer Angulo...

Beautiful! Definitely deserves it after the showing against Akhmedov. Look forward to seeing more of this lad!

Survived an early scare form Ali coming out strong but then just used craft to wear the kid down and bust him up... patient, composed, cool as an effing cucumber. Took the fight real short notice too. Reminds me of Hopkins a lot stylistically - crafty, smart - but not as dirty and probably a level below. Similar frame to BHop too.

Curiously I believe he's a nephew or something of Segundo Mercado.

Made a fan of me anyway. Good pickup from Hearn though I ain't sure how he'll perform against the real top dudes... he's already 31 but I think his style should be OK for longevity.

Great stuff, cheers mate. After watching that, I'd love to see Gongora vs Uzcategui
