You learn more from sparring than anything else, professional trainers learn from his fighters flaws by studying him/her during the exercise: what are his/her strengths and flaws, what he/she can improve on to grow to their full potential.
As you can see from this sparring session vs. Rollie Romero, one of Ryan's strengths ( which served him well vs. Luke Campbell ), is his ability to remain calm during pressure and survive the onslaught. But Tanks power might be too much, Ryan's chin might not hold for 12 rounds. We will see.
