The "Russian Giant" Nikolai Valuev celebrates his 33rd birthday today. However, today is no day of leisure for the seven-foot WBA heavyweight champion, who is currently the longest reigning heavyweight titlist. Valuev is currently preparing in a remote village high in the mountains of Armenia with his coach Manuel Gabrielian for his title defense against Monte Barrett (USA) on October 7 in Chicago. "My coach was the first one to congratulate me this morning before training. Also, my wife Galina and my son Grischa reached me on the phone," said the champion, who stressed that today barely differs from other training days. "We are here concentrated on our program. For me, only the next fight in America counts at the moment. It also makes no difference to me that it's my birthday. My coach gave me Armenian cognac with cognac glasses. But naturally we open it when I have defended the title in Chicago
