You must have some really good fighters at your club.
Luke Campbell is an Olympic gold medalist FFS.Comment

Must still be trying to clear his head from that Cambell knockdown.Comment

I don't have a club, too old, too busy making money. They call them gyms here not clubs. You go to clubs to dance, do drugs, and bring women home.
He was garbage in the amateurs in a bad year and a dead division (bantam lol). His record is loaded with padding. Fighting 0-0 fighters when he was 34-12: https://boxrec.com/en/amateurboxer/548957
What kind of amateur system lets you fight 0-0 fighters when you got 46 fights? A garbage amateur system, thats what.
You telling me this is the hallmark of a gold medalist? The year he won gold one of the fighters got a fixed win against that Japanese guy IN THE OLYMPICS.
Olympic gold today isn't anything like Olympic gold from when it meant something
Campbell is a C- level scrub and that's a fact. Youu can't prove to me otherwise.Comment

Olympic boxing has always been dubious because of the corrupt individuals in charge. I guess the amateurs who beat Roy Jones and Mayweather are from the era when Olympic gold meant something. Oh and don't forget when Kevin Barry beat Holyfield on a clearly corrupt disqualification ruling from the ref.I don't have a club, too old, too busy making money. They call them gyms here not clubs. I agree with your post. The amateurs though are like the sign of the times. Back in the 80's when the AAU's were around, you could fight 2-3 times in a night with little to no headgear and smaller gloves. I fought in the mid 90's and it was 1 fight per night. I couldn't imagine fighting more than once a night and be winning all night. Those guys were cut from a different cloth. Win gold then, you a somebody.Olympic boxing has always been dubious because of the corrupt individuals in charge. Loads of talent everywhere, it meant something back then in the inner-city communities to box.
New York Golden Gloves is a rough place to be. I'll tell you no Open Class fighter could ever get their hands on a 0-0 when they had 46 fights, it would be murder in the ring.
The truth of the matter is, the amateurs been on a steady decline. Now don't get me wrong, there was a time whe the amateurs was hot as hell, those events sold out and there was a buzz in the community. I remember going to shows in the early 90's, fights in the crowd, it was nuts.
Now it's like peoples moms are there and kids running around.
I mean, it's still a big deal to be an amateur star, but you got to have well over 100 wins to be a real somebody in an age where the amateurs are as safe as they are today. A guy like Campbell that was 66-16 beating 0-0 fighters when he still had 50 fights, come on man. You ain't somebody getting wins like that, I don't care what color medal they give you.Comment
