Coppinger: A suspension is likely for Kovalev, pending the results of the B-sample being tested. Golden Boy Promotions owed Kovalev one fight worth $2.5 million, part of the deal for Kovalev to fight Canelo. With the positive test canceling the bout, Golden Boy could look to void the agreement and escape its obligation to Kovalev. And if that happens, Kovalev will likely have to settle for far less money the next time he fights.

Yeah but Canelo gets a pass for CLEARLY being juiced to the gills when he tested positive twice. The hypocrisy on this site is astounding. Canelo fans criticizing another pro boxer for testing positive for a banned substance. That's rich.

Well in fairness they both may have been on PED's.

You know Canelo was juiced. Just look at how much he's bulked up. He's as wide as a truck. I guess that's all natural muscle mass though
right. Given he's the golden goose of boxing and has control through money and power, I'm willing to bet Canelo has been juicing all along but has just paid off the right people since he got busted.

As much as I’ve come to dislike Kovalev in recent years I have high doubts that he purposely took something to “gain an edge” while being enrolled in VADA. I think the more likely scenario is that what he tested positive for was an ingredient in a non banned substance which would mean he, or more likely his team didn’t research.

I tend to avoid these PED articles because 99.9% of people on here have no clue what they’re talking about or don’t understand the complexity of PEDs. Most guys hear “PED” in boxing & believe boxers are shooting up like Ivan Drago from Rocky lol.

I could write an essay on PEDs in terms of dosages, effectiveness, amount tracing, longevity, duration of effectiveness etc. but it would mostly fall on deaf ears .

Popping dirty is like a **** accusation it’s gonna follow you forever regardless of the truth. I’m not saying Kovalev couldn’t possibly have tried to use something purposely I just have my doubts knowing what I know about PEDs

Aside from maybe Broner I don't think there's another fighter that fell from grace quite as hard as Kovalev, not in this era, anyway
