Why did Maidana give Floyd trouble that Pac, Mosley, and Canelo couldn't?

I don't understand how Maidana was making Floyd fight life and death to the final round while the supposed Hall of Fame legends were getting their ass beat every single round in dominating fashion vs Floyd. Those 3 guys won a combined 2 rounds vs Floyd. Floyd was on cruise control vs the "greats". All of a sudden the young upstart Maidana wins 5 clear rounds vs Mayweather. Doesn't make sense to me.

It's the same way Sakio Bika gave guys like Calzaghe and Ward tougher fights than guys that were better than him.

Just ugly, messy, dirty fighters, not the sort of opponent clean boxers enjoy fighting. Pac and Mosley would ice Maidana but a feather fist who likes space like Floyd would always have a hard time

Floyd was troubled by fighters that brought the fight to him. Floyd thought Maidana would be easy money & underestimated Maidana's will & jab that night

Its just styles. Maidana is super relentless (3/4 of the fight) and its very difficult to control him as long as he pushes the pace hard. Mayweather likes a patient pace so that he has an easier time to get a read on his opponent.

Maidana just went for it and didnt give mayweather room to think much. Most guys are also wary of mayweathers counter punches and that consequently slows down the pace for mayweather. Maidana didnt really care lol.

When Maidana started to slow down in the second half, Mayweather started to time him better, had more space and outboxed him. For some reason mayweather also didnt clinched as much in the first half (which he changed in the rematch). An ugly but efficient way to stop a relentless pressure fighter is the hit and hold strategy. Same thing that Alexander applied vs maidana.

Only when he felt like fighting toe to toe, when he boxed on his toes he schooled the very same guys in rematches.

Because Maidana wasn't little like Pac or weight drained like Canelo, or way past his prime like Mosley. Paul Williams would have given Floyd trouble at 147, Sergio Martinez would have given Floyd a fight at 154. Instead we saw the who's who of the beatable bunch get lined up.

Maidana has heart, balls ,and power . you see his highlights . he went out like a g in every major fight . Garcia refined his skills so it just wasn't a street fight . he had good defense and a good jab . if he really would've focused he could a hurt him like when he knocked out his tooth in the 2nd fight
