all the moves in UFC are legal. Well I guess you meant illegal when it refers to boxing but elbows, knees to the head, rabbit punches, backhands are all legal in MMA. I even saw a guy foot stomping, lol. I think elbows to the back of the head are illegal though.

back in the beginning even groin punching was legal. There was a guy named Keith Hackney back in the early 90's who won a fight by 10-12 repeated nut shots. It was funny and sickening at the same time.

What criteria are you using to determine that the UFC is increasing in popularity? In terms of PPV numbers boxing outshines UFC by far. I personally think boxing will always attract more fans and money than the UFC.

The reality is that the UFC is trying to attract boxing fans by emphasizing more standup fighting. They have moved the fighters away from excessive grappling on the ground like it was during the early UFC days. Now there are time limits on the ground and anything perceived as stalling gets an immediate stand up. The average viewer of the UFC that doesn't have a background in judo or grappling sports will not be able to relate to two men wearing underwear rolling on the ground hugging each other. Sorry but it looks gay. Everyone can relate to boxing because it looks more natural and manly.

        I agree totally.
But they should try straight fisticuffs in the Octagon.

Octagon with MMA gloves. No wrestling, grappling, or kicking. Just straight punching for 5 rounds. Thats gangsta

And also a slammers event. Rashad, Tito, and Matt...takedowns and slams for 5 rounds.

        2 easy. I'm a genius.
