Funny how we hear all this crap from Callum Smith now when what we heard before the fight was that he's been in the gym and is ready to go whenever he gets the call. Canelo was gunning for Plant for December and when that didn't happen, he quickly turned his attention to Smith. Let's not make Smith some victim now. It's not like Canleo knew who he was going to fight until the Smith fight was agreed upon.

Canelo Alvarez split with GBP on November 6 and was in negotiations with PBC for a Plant fight shortly after. A week later he agrees to fight Smith.

When exactly did he say we were training for Smith for 6 weeks? Anyways, clearly he WAS in the gym and training without an official agreement for any opponent.

Smith was in the gym himself. Why did Hearn not tell him to get ready for the Canelo fight since there was a possibility of it happening?

I mean Plant at one point didn't feel he would be at his best and turned down the Canelo fight. So it is possible to do so. But if you take it, don't come up with excuses afterwards. I don't see any foul play by Canelo here.
