Yeah, just like Hearn will talk Usyk out of forcing the mandatory. In the words of Bob Arum, "read the contract, it has expired."

Different situations. Shakur is getting shot next. Usyk isn't getting Joshua or Fury for at least a year.

Many similarities with Wilder and Usyk.

Contracts expired, says Bob Arum, so they no longer need to be honored!

I'm the mandatory, fight me, or F-You, pay me!

I get what you're trying to say here. And that's all fine and dandy but there are differences here. In THIS scenario, Arum has BOTH Herring and Stevenson while having a good working relationship with Warren.

I do agree though that Stevenson can force them to pay him some step aside money.

Agreed! I am a big Shakur guy and attended 4 of his fights. Nothing wrong with him expecting the other camp to hold up their end of the bargain!

It isn't weird when you actually follow all the things Stevenson says. It changes all the time. He should just let them fight and he gets next shot. He's in no rush. But he wants to cause problems so he feels like a big shot. It gets annoying when it keeps on happening with especially American fighters. Wilder has held the division up for 5 years and still wants to keep doing so by trying to mess Fury around and the AJ fight. He doesn't even want to fight Fury again. He just hopes Fury wants the real fight enough to drop the title so that coward can again get a cheap title against a bum like he's fought his whole career.

Indeed I have followed what SS has been saying and he has been very consistent with his statements and wishes. He did state he and Herring are friends but he added the caveat of not allowing friendship deter him from his goals. You have to respect that from a young fighter because he could easily take the cop-out or the easy route. Next, there was a contract drawn up and the parties involved have allowed the allotted time to expire. You fault Stevenson for enacting said contract by asking for his rightful spot as the mandatory, again, a spot he fought for and earned! He shouldn't have to wait because a fighter's shelf life can be fleeting and no one knows what will happen next or in the future. SS is correct in being as aggressive and assertive as he is currently. Now, if he gets his shot and beats Herring and then doesn't fight the Berchelt vs Valdez winner, then you have every right to be pissed at him but now he is on the right course.

So you're cool with Frampton being f3cked over at his age and denying him the chance to pick up a title in his 3rd weight class? He should just look elsewhere? Herring should drop the biggest payday of his career to set him for life the best it can at his age just for Stevenson?

Stevenson should use common sense in why the fight didn't happen sooner. They didn't do it because both are messing about and can't come to an agreement. They didn't fight because of a world wide virus. I think Stevenson could be a little more thoughtful considering.

But if the little brat insists on stopping this fight for both, then i'm sure that will endear him even more to boxing fans around the world.

So it's SS's fault BOTH these guys are older and their contract fiasco happened during a pandemic? No, I get what you're saying Champ, but we're talking real life here and if there wasn't a contract involved I would be right there with you. But come on Champ, for a 22 year old to have his business in order as he does and being as assertive as he is currently needs to be applauded by boxing fans around the world and nothing to the contrary.
