Shakur can fight Lomachenko in the meantime. No promo obstructions.

Maybe just maybe they get Lomachenko to move back to 130 and be ranked highly by the WBO and that fight happens.

I understand not wanting to wait with all the uncertainty. It does seem weird that all 3 fight under Top Rank and the Herring-Frampton fight was just announced today. Something's off here. People will say the pandemic but this was signed during that time too right? If these fighters fought as much in the ring as in courts and arbitration boxing would be lovely.

As far as potential opponents honestly it doesnt look good with Valdez already fighting Berchelt the next highest contender is the little known Jeremiah Nakathila who's been calling for a shot at Herring too. I think it could be possible that maybe Shakur moved up his timeline because the winner of Berchelt-Valdez especially if its Berchelt might move up. A better matchup might be with Navarette moving up. Navarette being champ at 126 is clearly big for the division and even there was a question in June about whether it was time to move up. Stevenson-Navarette for the vacan title might be better than the rest of the stuff

I get he's frustrated with his competition but still. It's just a matter of time for him for him to get the WBO strap.

No need. The winner can fight Davis or WBO winner or Diaz. In a real world.

If time ran out on the Wilder-Fury rematch clause then it's only fair that time gets enforced here too. Right?

I’d rather Shakur target the Berchelt-Valdez winner. Maybe he wants to try and pick up the WBO and then unify which is fair enough.

Only case where not fighting mandatories is ok for me is for unification fights. So if Herring decides to fight Berchelt (not possible in the near futuresince Berchelt is scheduled to fight Valdez in February), who's also with top rank, I could tolerate Stevenson having to wait for the winner, but I don't see why he should wait for Herring to fight Frampton. So fight or vacate, simple as that!
